Chris Coleman

Coleman was a key presence in the Welsh national side during the 1990’s and played for his nation in attempting to qualify for Euro 96, World cup 98 and Euro 2000. He started his career off playing for Welsh club, Swansea, making over 160 appearances for the club between 1987 and 1991. He later on starred for Crystal Palace, being installed as the club captain while there. In the summer of 1995, he moved to Blackburn Rovers for £2.8 million before finishing his playing career off with Fulham FC.
Gary Speed

Speed is one of Wales’s most ever capped football players, earning 85 caps for his country, scoring seven goals in the process. He retired from international football in 2004 in an international career which spanned twelve years between 1992 and 2004. He has had an amazing football history, including winning the league title with Leeds United in 1992 and spending six years at Newcastle. He signed for Bolton Wanderers in the year 2004 and is still currently playing for the club.
John Robinson

Robinson was a key member of the Wales national side during the 1990’s in his midfield role. He made his first appearances for Wales in the year 1995 and last match in 2002. He started his football career playing for Brighton before enjoying most his career at Charlton Athletic, making over 350 appearances for the club between 1992 and 2003. He later played for Cardiff City, Gillingham and Crawley town.
Paul Jones

Jones is certainly one of the finest Welsh goal keepers to have played for Wales. He made his international debut in the year 1997 in a match against Scotland. In total, Paul Jones made 50 appearances for Wales; his last match for Wales was a forgettable one as they were defeated 5-1 at home against Slovakia.
He started his career playing for Kidderminster Harriers before moving on to play for Wolves in 1991. In the summer of 1996 he signed for Stockport County and in 1997 he moved to Southampton, spending seven years at the club and playing in goal during the 2003 FA Cup final. He later on played for Wolves and Millwall and is now in goal for QPR. |
